CHALLENGE
In 2023 we worked with a non-profit group that hosts U.S. Department of Defense events in the Charleston, South Carolina area. The Charleston Defense Contractor’s Association (CDCA) wanted to rebrand their visual identity for a large-scale conference that they hold annually in December. The ‘CDCA Defense Summit’ needed a new image and voice that would target the military industrial complex on the East Coast – communicating strength, preservation and support for the U.S. DoD community.
SOLUTION
The Baldino Design Group conducted in-depth market research, competitor analysis, and did a brand positioning workshop to facilitate an upgrade for the event’s visual identity. We then custom designed a cohesive branding package that incorporated their new logo, color palette, and typography to reflect the rebranded ‘Eastern Defense Summit’ ideals. The final deliverables included, an event landing page, digital marketing assets as well as large-print banners, backdrops and directionals that ensured consistency across all touchpoints.
RESULTS
As a result, the Eastern Defense Summit experienced an increased attendance of 20% since 2022 as well as greater exhibitor participation and volunteers. The new visual identity successfully helped generate interest beyond the southeast regional level – demonstrating the impact of strategic branding initiatives on event attendance.
