This case study explores how the Baldino Design Group rebranded a RadioShack dealer’s image, breathing new life into their visual identity, target customer base, and overall presence. Through strategic design, market insights, and a bold new direction, we helped them not only survive a financial crisis but also strengthened their position in the local market. Here’s how we made it happen.
CHALLENGE
In 2011 we worked with a RadioShack electronics dealer in Charleston, South Carolina to rebrand their visual identity during a bankruptcy that sadly caused many RadioShack owned outlets around world to close their doors permanently.
The Charleston local franchise dealer needed a new image and market position that would capitalize on their distribution of NWS radios for the impending east coast hurricane season as well as strengthen their new identity as a reputable custom automobile audio installer.
SOLUTION
The Baldino Design Group conducted in-depth market research and analysis to create a new visual identity and message that would meet the criteria for their new vision.
We then custom designed a new logo that incorporated a fresh color palette as well as typography for use on all platforms to reflect the rebranded ‘Hurricane Electronics’ commitment to innovation and service to the community.
The final deliverables included logo formatted for the storefront as well as website assets and a print layout to jumpstart a new ad campaign.
RESULTS
The rebranding collaboration between Hurricane Electronics and Baldino Design Group has been transformative for the business. Proving a successful rebrand can indeed help struggling companies pivot toward growth and sustainability.
The new visual identity seems to have accomplished several key objectives: (1) It repositioned Hurricane Electronics in the market, (2) created a more modern and appealing brand presence, (3) established a foundation for long-term growth and (4) developed a brand identity strong enough to become a legacy asset.
This kind of strategic rebranding often goes beyond just visual elements to encompass broader business positioning, customer experience, and market perception. It’s so great to hear that our partnership yielded such positive results for Hurricane Electronics.
